Are You a Weekend Warrior or Lounger?
What are your plans for the long weekend? I have one friend who has no plans for the weekend. I can’t even fathom just resting and relaxing.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s much needed and much desired but we’re doing a combination of visiting and weekend-warrior projects. I plan to spend every available moment in my garden and Steve has his own task list in mind.
What about you? Are you relaxing, hosting, or tackling projects? I have a few no fuss recipe recommendations, no matter what you have planned.
This is one of the rare years in Canada where Queen Victoria’s birthday, May 24th, will actually be on the holiday Monday. The grocery stores will be closed that day. Be prepared for crowds, picked over produce if you go on Sunday afternoon, but some good sales on meat.
Weekend Warrior:
Filling casseroles are your friend. We’re making a Spanish inspired rice dish this weekend. It has many names. Here are three versions:

Hosting Guests:
Salads and casseroles will feed many and give variety. These are some of my favourites salads:

Chillaxing:
You want simple and light fare. Nothing to make the stomach feel heavy.
