Directions
Rice is an extremely versatile dish. Steve prefers Basmati but I enjoy long grain brown rice.
For variations in flavour, substitute for the liquid: 1 cup of coconut milk with grated ginger, or orange juice with a pinch of tumeric. We cook ours with water and stir in spices and minced onion to add flavour to the meal.

Bring 2 cups of water with a dash of Herbamare to a boil in medium saucepan. Stir in 1 cup of rice and any spices. Return to a boil. |

Reduce heat to a simmer and cover until rice has absorbed all the liquid. My friend Liz found it takes exactly 18 minutes (but I check after 16 minutes). |
