When time passes by
Then one day you find, 10 years have gone behind you. That’s how I feel today. Funny how the things you enjoy are often the things that get pushed aside when time is tight (i.e. writing these posts). However, I am still cooking away! This weekend Steve and I revisited Beer Can chicken with steamed veggies and a salad. Her timing is ideal – 1.47kg at 70 minutes. I used the drippings to form a roux, then thinned it out with the beer and rosemary left in the can and 2 cups of chicken stock. We won’t be making chicken any other way and are now plotting how to do the same with a turkey 🙂
We ended the meal with some Midsummer Murder – a favourite of ours – with an oreo shake.
The left over chicken was added to a portabello and artichoke lasagna. Recipe to follow – stay tuned!
