Appetizers
Apparently, not everyone starts their dinner with a starter but it’s something I grew up with whenever my parents had company. Now that we’re all older, we get together and snack while we chat, then we eat dinner, then we have a dessert fiesta. It’s great until I come home feeling sick because I ate too much.
My Mom went through a long (and wonderful but fattening) phase of baked brie, then it was salsa and tortillas. Not she and Dad are on a cheese kick – toffee cheddar tastes like a chewy candy! Steve discovered raw peppers as a snack and now we’re introducing the concept to his family (mostly because I show up with an appetizer as my contribution towards dinner).
It’s creative presentation, mostly rich food and a way to keep people in close proximity to facilitate conversation. I present to you … appetizers!
Cheers,
Brooke
