Here’s the “recipe,” such as it is from my sister-in-law, Laurie:

  • 1 cup dates (soaked first if using dried)
  • ½ cup whole almonds (no skins)
  • ½ cup walnuts (I used raw cashews)
  • 4 Tbs cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips

Puree the dates and nuts. Pulse in the cocoa powder and chocolate chips. Add a touch of water if too dry.

Use cling film to form balls and store in the fridge. She wasn’t kidding – these have an intense chocolate flavour. Pauline, you’d approve!
