Shredded Pork
For the boys’ birthdays, my sister hosting a fun family afternoon that got rescheduled to Sunday lunch because of the crazy storm on Saturday. She made an awesome sand-castle cake, chocolate cupcakes and served watermelon slices for dessert. The plates were harvest gold and shades of orange Tupperware from the 70’s that she borrowed from our Mom. Apparently Steve had the same ones as a kid – too funny! Everything was orange.
For dinner there were meatballs and shredded pork in an orange BBQ sauce, salad, pasta salad, chips galore (BBQ and All dressed because they are orange) and these pretzels stuffed with PB. I wrote to ask for the pork recipe and wanted to share:
The pulled pork recipe Bonnie gave me. Basically you put the pork in the slow cooker. Fill most of the way with rootbeer and some more with water (Bonnie only uses rootbeer but we found that too sweet). Turn it on for the day. After you shred it add some BBQ sauce (we like to use Diana Sauce). Tada!!
Will post pictures soon.
