The truth is – you should wash your fruit and veggies. Whether its pesticides from commercial growers or acid rain and fruit fly eggs from backyard produce, wash your food!

Regarding harmfulness, I knew someone who broke into hives from eating a pear. East pears regularly – she thinks it was a spray on the fruit that caused the reaction. Still, in a recent article on the CTV news, Steve noted that they waited until the very end of the article when most people have stopped reading to mention that “the Canadian government monitors fruits and vegetables for pesticide levels and what makes it to store shelves is considered safe to consume.”
