Au Pied de Cochon
Of the many reasons why I love traveling with Allison is this:
Most important thing done: We have reservations at Au Pied de Cochon at 8:30 pm. Now to get a flight to get us there in time and a hotel 😉
I noticed that Foie Gras is the first item on the menu – its her favourite! I am really looking forward to seeing the restaurant itself. First, they sell t-shirts (myfav is MARTIN SUR LA ROUTE LOGO) and have a cookbook: Au Pied de cochon – The Album is the official Pied de Cochon cookbook published by Martin Picard and entirely produced by friends and staff of the restaurant. BTW, Martin Picard is the host of The Wild Chef on Food Network. That show is insane – he kills meat and then shows you how to cut/cook it. Its very real and I enjoy his crazy sense of humour.
NB: I did send her a hint that Chef Chuck Hughes is in Hamilton the weekend we’re heading to Montreal … oh the irony!
