I saw the tail end of a Rachel Ray show today. The recipe was her Steakhouse Shepherd’s Pie with a tomato/shrimp side with horseradish dressing. It’s too heavy for me to make, but if you’re interested, the directions are on the Food Network »

Here’s the issue – she starts talking about how rich this is that it will put you into a “food coma”, which is one of her favourite feelings. Think about that!! A “food coma” is insulin shock from too much carbs and sugar. It’s caused by your body demanding all its resources just to digest the food and diverting a large amount of blood to the stomach, so much so that you pass out. That’s ridiculous and unhealthy! What is wrong with her to promote that as a good experience?!
