Judi from work and I took a refresher course on knife handling with Chef Greg Barker at The Casual Gourmet in Westdale (their last class ever). We practiced on various vegetables and I bought a soft peeler for tomatoes and mangoes. I also got a cool pin-up 50’s style magnet for inspiration by my desk; it says “She would have perfect thighs in this lifetime” .

The risotto he madewas delicious. It included some of the vegetables that we cut up. He recommends practicing on potatoes so you can toss them in water and mash them if it’s not quite right.
