Mars Bar Rice Krispie Squares

What you need from the store:

  • 1/2 cup of margarine (okay you would have to buy a tub but you get the point)
  • 4 Mars Bars
  • 4 cups of Rice Krispies

How to create this sinful delight:

  1. Melt the margarine with chocolate on stove til soft and smooth
  2. Add Rice Krispies
  3. Mix and put in 8 x 8 pan. Cool then cut

They always sell out of the Rice Krispie squares at the cafe in our building. They are something ridiculous like $1.50 for a 3½” square so it’s hard to justify buying them (but Judi just loves them so I sometimes can scam half). Thank you Sandy for forwarding this great recipe.

Oh! This would be great after Hallowe’en way to use up those mini bars (or get them on sale). My sister, Meaghan, uses the traditional recipe (about 40 marshmallows or a 10oz pack)  with Coco-Krispies instead and they are super good! FYI she says the ones in the US have more chocolate than the ones in Canada, so if you’re making a cross-boarder trip, pick up a club pack or two. Probably the same amount of sugar but a few less calories to pack on the hips than 4 Mars Bars (if you know what I mean … and I think you do! Hello, I am not sharing this pan. Make your own). By the way, this is my sister Meaghan who is also a master baker and super crafty »
