Kindness and Cupcakes
I couldn’t believe it! I arrive for a meeting about patents and he’s running late because his daughter is sick and they were at the doctor’s. Gosh, I wish someone had called to reschedule and felt terrible – they thought she might have had meningitis but it was probably the flu. If you can imagine, he showed up with a little box from Weil’s Bakery in Westdale as an apology.
If you have not tasted Weil’s, it’s a special kind of handcrafted deliciousness. Light pastry, rich filling, beautifully decorated. It was so kind of him and totally unnecessary (I was only waiting about 10 min and there was someone to cover for him). I opened the box at home to find two beautiful cupcakes and wow were they ever delicious.
Then, on the way home, the shuttle bus driver, Ann, whom I really like and is a joy to chat with, handed me homemade, low-fat blondies. They were chewy and buttery flavoured and I didn’t share those with Steve. I enoyed all four squares all by myself 🙂
