Classic Veggie Tray
What you need for the dip:
- 1c sour cream
- 1/2 c mayonnaise
- spices (see below)
Variation 1:
- 1 spring onion, finely chopped
- 1 Tbs horseradish
- ½ tsp each: parsley, dillweed, salt
Variation 2:
- 1 Tbs onion, chopped
- 1 tsp each: garlic powder, chives, onion powder
- ½ tsp each: lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ tsp paprika
- 1/8 tsp curry powder
Variation 3 (Grandma’s specialty):
- onion soup mix
The directions are simple: combine and chill over night. Serve with raw vegetables.
My personal favourites for veggie trays are celery, jullienned carrots (real ones, not baby carrots. They have this white film and there is something about them that is a bit odd), sliced peppers (green, red, yellow, and/or orange taste great. fyi purple peppers taste like green peppers), sliced mushrooms, cauliflower and broccoli, thick slices of cucumer and tomatoes (the little grape or cherry kind).
