Taste of Burlington
I wanted to take advantage of the fixed price Taste of Burlington to try the Rahoon Persian Eatery in Burlington. For $35 we each had a salad to start, main entree and a delicious dessert!
Salad Shirazi: Diced tomatoes, cucumbers & red onions dressed with a lemon & olive oil vinaigrette & dusted with mint. We were also served a small plate of pita, feta, parsley, walnuts and radish.
For the entree I chose, Barreh (Lamb) Kabob: Selected pieces of lamb chops served with a coriander mint sauce and your choice of grilled vegetables or mixed green salad. My friend had Persian Stew Festival: A selection of three Persian stews served with our saffron infused rice. Ghalieh Mahi – Rayhoon’s signature dish & the pinnacle of Southern Persian Cuisine. Tilapia, herb, garlic & tamarind stew. Gheimeh – Hearty and homey tender beef, saffron, & split yellow pea stew . Fesenjoon – Rich chicken, butternut squash, pomegranate & walnut stew.
Ard Nokhodchi & Chocolate Walnut Khormah: A plate of light, melt in your mouth Persian tea cookies & walnut stuffed dates covered in chocolate & finished with coconut. A perfect complement to our Persian tea.
It was delicious and I would recommend going. It’s in the Village Square, closest to Pearl Street (where the Rude Native used to be).
