Bacon and Eggs

What a disaster! In retrospect, we should have cooked the eggs first on the beautiful glassy finish, then the bacon but didn’t understand and the timing for eating wouldn’t have been right.

We cooked up a package of bacon in the skillet and it came out beautifully. Lots of grease and well cooked bacon. We cleaned out the “bits” and tried to cook eggs. The first ones burned immediately. We had to scrape them out and tried scrambled instead of sunny-side. They had lots of black intermingled with the egg but tasted okay.

Cleaning was a challenge. We decided to try it all over again – scraped down the main surface, covered it with Cristco and stuffed it back in the oven. Didn’t come out looking the same at all. More a mottled finish with bits of carbon (like it’s described on other people’s blogs). We were saddened by that but were encouraged that the more you cook with pan, the easier it is to cook with.
