Anne’s Apples

My neighbour dropped off a bag of  apples today. I also had pears from Shirley. I had a massive canning episode and made:

  • pear-apple puree; 6 pint jars with 20 minutes processing time
  • apple-pear pie in a jar flavoured with Goldschläger; 5 quarts that failed horribly (4 lids popped and one jar exploded); redid 7 pints with raisins plus some left overs for my oatmeal tomorrow
  • apple-pear pie in a jar; 3 quarts and 1 pint

My last batch is currently boiling. I started at 9am and now it’s 10pm … took a lunch break but that was a long day of canning … and there are more pears to jar tomorrow!
